Supporting Bahrain’s afforestation plans to reach 3.6 million trees by 2035

stc Bahrain launched “Trees for Life”, a tree planting project aimed to re-green our natural landscapes through tree planting efforts in Bahrain. It is part of stc’s responsibility to minimize its impact on the environment and make a positive difference in Bahrain. It is a long-term project that involves government and corporate sectors in order to reach our tree planting goal.
The project is in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Environment and under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture. This initiative is in line with the government’s 2035 vision to reduce carbon emissions by 30% and “quadrupling” the area of Bahrain's mangroves, doubling tree coverage and investing in sustainable technologies. This vision was announced by Crown Prince and Prime Minister HRH Sh. Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in COP-27 in 2022.
